Hungry Brains
He was poor.
14 years of age; six out of which were spent collecting pieces of rotten papers from garbage. He searched through trash cans for those polluted objects as if looking for some clean pieces of life; some fresh days and some un-prewritten moments. He hadn’t eaten for two days. What he found was not bought often; his sun-burnt days and his heartache was not valued anymore.
It was getting difficult. People had stopped throwing their unwanted things in those trash cans; he had no idea why. All he knew was that he was running out of energy to look for all that anymore.
Through his dizzy eyes he was analyzing the road ahead of him when a car passed by with a quarreling voice of an angry child and out came an object from the car window, thrown with furious anger. The object rolled on the sidewalk and as he approached it, he saw a one-bite bitten Big Mac; a burger as he knew it. Hunger shivered in his eyes and the smell of fresh food rested on his tongue.
There was no one there as he looked around; and then a smile twisted his lips. He stepped forward, picked up that warm dirt-ridden burger, walked a few steps and threw it in a trash can.
He then walked on analyzing the road ahead in his life.
