Oh Pretty One, You’re Ugly!
I have been noticing you for a while now. You are staring into nothingness, lost in a world of your own. You are surrounded by many, yet look so lonely. Your eyes mirror the darkness of the world, dark enough to haunt me. You are listening to meaningless words coming your way but you hear what they do not say. You are only searching for answers, answers you know you will never find. You feel so out of place but act like you were born purposely to fit here.
You are beautiful but your thoughts are ugly. When you speak, it sounds like you are singing a song of love… a song of lost-love. You look so strong but your hands tremble under the table. You love them all but you forget them when they leave. You have learnt a lot from this world. You have learned all the wicked tricks and mind games. You can handle the bitterness of truth now.
You know more than anyone else ever will. But your mind was beautiful before you learned everything. You realize the extent of pain of a broken heart yet you break hearts because you are still searching for answers. You stare into their eyes, trying to find yourself. But you know you do not belong. You are smiling to make them believe something, something untrue, something non-existent.
And then you rummage through your purse and there! That is when you look at me. Your eyes pierce through my soul and I realize… we are one.
