The Rainbow Place
I’ll go to the place where the colors of the rainbow are million in number
and I’ll count each without threat of slumber
when everybody i trust lets me down
and joy doesn’t know the way to my town
when i’m blinded by love and refuse to take caution
and watch on as my better-half subtracts her portion
when my wealth once abundant
vanishes as i remain redundant
the moment my future i saw so bright
suddenly looses its source of light
when people i call family
become synonymous to enemy
moments friends i call dear, walk on by
as though they can’t pronounce “hi”
the day my parents go to heaven without permission
leave me to finish their life mission
moments i try to find any use for my life
but rather reach my neck with a knife
when i know the right words to say
yet,things don’t go my way
to drown that creature called sorrow
and make sure it returns not, tomorrow
I’ll go to that place where the colors of the rainbow are million in number
and Ill count each without the threat of slumber
