Of Deceptively Strong Things: Volume 1

Thesaurus

Wish I could use the word “albeit” somehow
Sounds like wood…
Smells like brewing coffee
Just like it, and
Like the way it makes me feel..
Like “threshold”,
Like his punctuation marks.

Scanning Events

You, biting liquid kisses off my sanity
Me, blurry image of hope
A starry eyed woman in her 30’s
Scavenging IM’s for traces of happiness

Off-liners

This act has many hats
And feathers.
It has glittering billboards
And technicolor scarves.
This act has
The surgical precision of deceit.
Not one, but many puns
Waiting to be freed in the next syllable.
This act has it all, in the right doses.
But no prestige.

Still life

Longing, lusting, losing, leaving
Deceptively strong things
Scattered all over the space
Between your left eyebrow
And my right trace of common sense.

Ghost Translator

Wave at me from the script
Of a blue movie
Alliterations crash the screen…
Love long birds lost in lunacy

Wake up!
Blood-stained eyelashes
No fuzz, no romance
No candlelit coconut dinner
Just an old mattress

Love and memory

I love your eyes…
The memory of them
Deep black worlds of sarcasm, grief and anger
And tiny drops of mischief
I love you…
The memory of you…
A dark, troubled, lonely love
Aching in my finger tips
